Hallelujah! Boy, this is more overdue than Windows Vista. The article was actually release on April 26th, and I read about it then, but I haven't gotten to blogging about it until now. My favorite part is this:
I'd strongly suggest that a winning entry is submitted using our existing topic icons as examples. let me say that again we have 150+ icons, and we can't rebuild them all. Your design should use our icons. Not new ones.
So they're going to have a hot, slick, new website with these all over it:

That's going to look like a new Mercedes with emoticons painted on it. At least they're honest about the site's need for a redesign.
I seriously considered submitting a design. It's not that I have a chance at winning, but it would just be a fun challenge to try and organize so much information. Plus, the winner gets a sweet new computer. I won't have time to submit anything now that Accounting 6350 is up and going. For the next several weeks, I'll be squinting at cash flow statements instead of at Slashdot icons. I'm anxious to see the winner's entry, and the implementation of a new design. I expect great things.
